Typical day at furniture making school
The daily schedule is designed to mix wood working theory with lots of practical experience and the opportunity for one-to-one tuition. The School prides itself on a friendly, supportive learning environment, where each student can learn at their own pace, secure in the knowledge that they are receiving the best technical and design education.
Students work at their individual benches, and as their confidence increases and knowledge grows, students start to learn from each other too.
One week of each term is set aside for furniture restoration work. Students are assisted to prepare and execute their own work plan under professional practice conditions.

| 8.00am | Workshop Opens |
| 8.30am | Arrival and regular tool sharpening |
| 9.00am | Tutor led discussion about design or restoration techniques |
| 9.15am | Daily lecture: history of furniture, design, technique and business and marketing |
| 9.45am | Workshop demonstration |
| 10.00am | Hands-on practice of earlier demonstration with a break around 11.00am |
| 12.45pm | Lunch break |
| 1.45pm | Students work on individual projects at their bench – with the benefit of one to one tuition |
| 4.30pm | End of formal sessions, but students can continue to work until around 8.00 pm |
| 7.45pm | Prepare for departure |
| 8.00pm | Doors close |
